Name: Riverside Park
Riverside Park Recreation Area at Palisades Dam offers a campground with water and electricity, a boat launch, a day-use area and an RV dump station. It is set along the South Fork of the Snake River just below Palisades Dam. This location offers access to fishing in both the river and Palisades Reservoir. The campground offers sites with power and those sites have no shade. Most campsites without power are shaded.
Campsites: There are approximately 18 campsites, those without power have a picnic table, fire pit with attached grate and a camp stove. The sites with power do not.
Host on Site: Yes
Water: Yes, there is a pressurized system with faucets located throughout the campground.
Garbage Services: Yes
Electricity Available: Yes
Restroom: There are a couple vault style outhouses which were clean when we visited.
Handicap Accessible: The outhouses are handicap accessible and I believe one site was also.
Firewood: The host has firewood for sale, $6 per bundle.
Pets: Pets must be kept on a leash.
Picnic Area: The day use area offers a large picnic area with a daily fee of $5.
Recreation: Camping and fishing are the main recreational activities here. In the nearby mountains, there are trails to hike, bike and ride, wildlife to view and photograph, as well as a reservoir to ski on.
Fishing: Fishing is available in the South Fork and Palisades Reservoir for various trout and a few other species. Check the regulation for limits and restrictions.
Boating: There is a boat launch just below the dam for access to the river and another at both Calamity Campground and Blowout Campground on the reservoir.
Swimming: I would not recommend swimming in the river as it flows fast and deep.
Wildlife: Deer, moose, osprey and eagles would be the most common other than small forest animals.
Additional Camping Opportunities: We have reviews for these nearby campgrounds; Mike Harris Campground, Pine Creek Campground, Riverside Park Campground, Falls Campground, Palisades Creek Campground, Big Elk Creek Campground, Calamity Campground, Blowout Campground, Alpine Campground and McCoy Creek Campground.
Phone service: There is no pay phone but we had good reception with our ATT cell phones.
Nearby Services: There are a series of small stores and resorts along Highway 26 or you could drive to Alpine, WY for camp supplies like food, gas and one location even advertised "square ice cream".
RV Dumping Site: The RV dump station is free to campers and only $5 for non-campers.
