Name: Hardscrabble Campground

Hardscrabble Campground is situated on flat land along the Middle Fork of the Payette River. Campers have made a small dam on a bit of the river for wading. The campground is heavily forested with both timber and brush which provides most sites with both shade and privacy. There is no drinking water so bring plenty with you.

Campsites: There are 6 campsites, each has a picnic table and fire pit. The road and driveways are gravel/dirt.

Restroom: One vault style outhouse which was clean and well stocked.

Handicap Accessible: The outhouse is handicap accessible but that is all that appears to be.

Firewood: No.

Pets: Pets must be on a leash or kenneled.

Recreation: Camping, fishing, four-wheeling, hiking, photography and other activities are available in this area.

Fishing: Rainbow trout and whitefish are available in the Middle Fork of the Payette River.

Boating: No.

Swimming: Wading only.

Wildlife: Deer, elk, black bear and many other woodland animals live here.
