Name: Shadowy St Joe Campground
Shadowy St Joe Campground gets its name from the river. In days gone by, the river was lined with tall cottonwood trees which spread over the river nearly shading it entirely. Many trees still grow here but not enough to shade the river as they used to. The campground is entirely covered by trimmed lawn with many shade trees. Sites offer full sun to well shaded to suite your preference. There is a boat launch with a new dock giving fishermen access to the river. The hills nearby are covered with a mature forest. This is a very picturesque setting.
Campsites: There are 13 RV / tent sites available. Each site has a picnic table, barbecue pit and fire ring. The roads and driveways are paved. The campsites have trimmed lawn with shade trees scattered about.
Host on Site: "Gordon" was the host in 2013 and planned to return.

Restroom: The restrooms are a bit older vault style outhouses which were reasonably clean even on a Sunday afternoon.
Handicap Accessible: The outhouses are handicap accessible and the roads are paved.
Firewood: There is firewood sometimes, but I would plan on providing my own.
Pets: Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash or caged. Please clean up after them.

Recreation: Camping, fishing and boating are the main activities here.
Fishing: Fishing the St Joe River is the primary recreational activity. Check the regulations here.
Boating: The main boat launch on this section of the river is here. Check out our pictures.
Swimming: One could swim but I don't think of the river as a swimming type river.
Wildlife: I would expect to see bird and deer here.
