Name: Conrad Crossing Campground
Campsites: There are 9 RV / tent campsites, 3 in the lower loop and 6 in the upper. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring. The roads and driveways are gravel. The lower sites have access to the river.
Host on Site: No.
Water: There is a hand pump equipped well for camp water. I don't drink from these wells but they are tested monthly for bacteria.
Garbage Services: No garbage service available, please pack it out with you.
Electricity Available: No.
Restroom: There is a vault style outhouse in each upper and lower campgrounds. They are fairly clean and were well stocked.
Handicap Accessible: The outhouses are handicap accessible.
Firewood: No firewood is for sale here. You will need to provide your own.
Pets: Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
Picnic Area: There is no picnic area. However, if you find a campsite open feel free to have a picnic.
Recreation: Camping, fishing, rafting, kayaking, tubing and hiking are the main forms of recreation available here. If you wanted to travel a bit, The Trail of the Hiawatha is not too far for a fun day of biking. Check out this company offering package deals. It is one of several.
Fishing: Fishing is available in the St Joe River and it is a beautiful river. Check the regulations.
Boating: Just below Conrad Campground the river goes into a very narrow canyon with a series of rapids which would be great to run with raft or kayak. I am not into river running so do your homework before attempting this.
Swimming: I didn't see any great swimming hole but one may be able to cool off in the river.
Wildlife: Deer, elk, black bear and grizzly live in these mountains.
Additional Camping Opportunities: We have reviews for these other campgrounds on the St. Joe River; Shadowy St Joe Campground, Huckleberry Campground, Upper Landing Picnic Area, Packsaddle Campground, Turner Flat Campground, Tin Can Flat Campground, Fly Flat Campground, Beaver Creek Camp, Line Creek Stock Camp and Spruce Tree Campground.
Phone service: None.
Nearby Services: The nearest basic services and food stuffs would be at Avery, Idaho.
RV Dumping Site: There is a dump station at Upper Landing Picnic Area.
