Flat Rock Campground

Name: Flat Rock Campground

Flat Rock Campground is located on Hwy 20 just south of Mack's Inn in Island Park City. This country of rolling hills is covered with a mature, lodgepole pine forest. Henry's Fork of the Snake River flows past on the north edge of the campground offering world class fly fishing for rainbow trout and Island Park Reservoir offers boating activities only a short drive to the south.

Campsites: There are 36 campsites divided into two loops, A B. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit with attached grate, a barbecue stand and a sand filled tent square. 9 sites in loop B have electricity. The roads and driveways are gravel. Loop A offers some sites with river access and some sites are on a slope.

Host on Site: There are two hosts, one for each loop.

Water: Water is available through a pressurized system. The water was clear and cool.

Garbage Services: Yes, please use the garbage service to avoid a night time visit by a neighborhood bear.

Electricity Available: Nine campsites offer electricity in loop B.

Restroom: The restrooms are vault style outhouses and they were clean and stocked. There is a shower and laundry at Mack's Inn.

Handicap Accessible: Only the outhouses are handicap accessible.

Firewood: Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host for $6.00 per bundle.

Pets: Pets are okay but must be kept on a leash.

Picnic Area: No.

Recreation: Recreation at or near the campground includes camping, fishing, hunting, rafting, kayaking, hiking, photography, sightseeing, wildlife viewing and more.

Fishing: The streams and rivers nearby offer world class trout fishing but pay close attention to the regulations.

Boating: Floating the river on rafts and kayak is available near Flat Rock Campground and boating is available at Island Park Reservoir.

Swimming: No.

Wildlife: Deer, elk, moose, black and grizzly bear, wolves and more.

Phone service: No phone in the campground but there is at Mack's Inn. Our ATT cell phones had good reception but the reception is spotty in this area.

Nearby Services: Most supplies and services can be found at Mack's Inn also.

RV Dumping Site: There is an RV dump station at Mack's Inn.

Fees And Reservations: There are 16 sites which may be reserved at recreation.gov, 6 of these have electricity. As of May 2017 a standard single campsite is $15 and $20 if it has an electrical hook-up. Double sites are $30 per night.
