Name: Barneys Campground
Barney's Campground is located on the eastern shore of Deadwood Reservoir. It is shaded by a pine forest and is rather remote. One would think since it is rather out of the way that it wouldn't be busy, Wrong! It is very popular and reservations are recommended.
Campsites: Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. The road, driveways and sites are dirt and in a natural setting.

Fishing: Deadwood Reservoir is know for it's kokenee fishing. We had very poor luck for trout.
Boating: Boating, water skiing, canoeing and kayaking are popular on Deadwood.
Swimming: There is no designated swimming but there most people will take a dip in the cool waters of the reservoir on hot summer days. As the water level drops many great beaches appear in multiple location around the reservoir.
Hiking: For trails in the area take a look at the Idaho Trails Map.
Wildlife: It isn't unusual to see deer in the campground and black bear, elk and wolves live in this area.
Additional Camping Opportunities: There are 4 campgrounds around Deadwood Reservoir. So check out Riverside, Barney's, Howers and Cozy Cove. There is a large primitive camping area at a grvel bar type boat launch near Riverside Campground. Other primitive camping is available in various locations around the lake and on the Deadwood River north of the reservoir.
