Name: Pine Recreation Site
Pine Recreation Site is a Boise National Forest facility located on the north end of Anderson Ranch Reservoir. There are only a few small trees in the campground but campsites 2 through 7 have covers for the picnic tables. There is a boat ramp with a handling dock and a large parking lot for boaters to use. The area at the campground is sagebrush covered while the hills around are a mixture of pine trees with sagebrush on the open slopes.
Campsites: There are seven developed campsites. Sites 2 through 7 have a covered picnic table, fire pit with attached grill and a camp stove table. The road and driveways are gravel.
Host on Site: No.
Water: None.
Garbage Services: The information sign indicates no garbage service, however, there was a garbage dumpster in the parking lot. Humm...
Electricity Available: No.
Restroom: There is a vault style outhouse which was well stocked but was not the cleanest.
Handicap Accessible: Access to the outhouse would be challenging to the handicapped.
Firewood: You will need to provide your own firewood while camping at Pine Recreation Site.
Pets: Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
Picnic Area: None.
Recreation: Recreation here is primarily related to the lake so do bring your four wheelers to explore the mountains nearby. Camping, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing, four wheeling and photography are all available from Pine Recreation Site.
Fishing: Anderson Ranch Reservoir offers fishing for trout, sockeye salmon, bass and perch. Check the fishing regulations for seasons and limits.
Boating: There is a nice boat ramp with a handling dock and a large parking lot for boaters to use.
Swimming: While there is no designated swimming area, people swim along the shore.
Wildlife: Deer, elk, black bear, wolves and many other smaller animals live in the hills nearby.
Additional Camping Opportunities: We have reviews for the following nearby campgrounds; Anderson Ranch Reservoir Area, Little Camas Reservoir, Spillway Recreation Site, South Fork of the Boise River, Little Wilson Creek Campground, Evans Creek Campground, Castle Creek Campground (BNF), Deer Creek Recreation Site and Curlew Creek Boat Ramp Campground.
Phone service: I had no cell reception nor was there a pay phone. There is a pay phone at the town of Pine which is only a short drive to the north.
Nearby Services: There is a convenience store with gas and supplies as well as a restaurant in Pine just a little to the north.
RV Dumping Site: Not here. There is an RV dump at Fall Creek Resort. If you know of one closer, please let us know.
Location/Driving instructions: I would follow this route to get to Pine Recreation Site.
