Little Camas Reservoir

Name: Little Camas Reservoir

Little Camas Reservoir is just south of Anderson Ranch Dam. It sets in the hills above the dam. The area has gently rolling hills covered with sagebrush. The camping is in primitive sites scattered along the shoreline. Most sites have a stone fire ring. There is absolutely no shade. Fishing is the reason people come here. I have never fished here but have talked to many that have. There were fishermen using their float tubes while we were there.

Campsites: Primitive. Maybe two dozen sites scattered along the western shoreline.

Host on Site: No.

Water: No.

Garbage Services: No.

Electricity Available: No.

Restroom: There are two vault style outhouses, one near the dam and the other about half way south along the west shore.

Handicap Accessible: The outhouses are but that is all that is.

Firewood: No.

Pets: No restrictions posted.

Picnic Area: Any of the camping sites could be used for your picnic.

Recreation: Fishing!

Fishing: Fishing by trolling from your boat, from the shore or fly fishing from your float tube. There are bass, perch and trout.

Boating: Boating is available but this is not a water sport lake, just fishing. If you want to ski, I recommend you drive on down to Anderson Ranch Reservoir.

Swimming: Doesn't look too appealing for swimming.

Wildlife: Deer and small game as well as birds. Swallows have taken over one of the outhouses.

Additional Camping Opportunities: We have reviews for the following nearby campgrounds; Anderson Ranch Reservoir Area, Spillway Recreation Site, South Fork of the Boise River, Little Wilson Creek Campground, Evans Creek Campground, Castle Creek Campground (BNF), Pine Recreation Site, Deer Creek Recreation Site and Curlew Creek Boat Ramp Campground.

Nearby Services: Mountain Home is the location for your nearest services such as gas, food, propane and pop, so make sure you have what you need before you come. The Fort Running Bear Resort is located on a hill just to the north of the dam but don't count on buying supplies there as they are a "members only" facility.
