Name: Evans Creek Campground
Evans Creek Campground is located on the north shore of Anderson Ranch Reservoir at the mouth of Evans Creek. As you will see from the pictures, the area is a mixture of forest and sagebrush. The lake is set in a steep valley. It is only a two hour drive from Boise, Idaho, so many of the campers come from that area for a weekend get away. The lake offers a place for fishing, water skiing and jet skiing.
Campsites: There are nine campsites and each have a picnic table and fire pit with grill. Two are double sites.
Host on Site: No.
Water: No.
Garbage Services: Yes, there were two garbage dumpsters located near the outhouse.
Electricity Available: No.
Restroom: Evans Creek has a nice clean vault style outhouse located near the entrance.
Handicap Accessible: The outhouse is handicap accessible but the rest of the campground is fairly rough and doesn't strike me as very hospitable to the handicapped.
Firewood: You will need to provide your own firewood while camping here.
Pets: Your pets should be kept on a leash while camping at Evans Creek Campground but they are welcome.
Picnic Area: Feel free to use an open campsite or empty beach for your picnic. There is no group shelter or other picnic facility.
Recreation: When camping here you could enjoy fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, four-wheeling, sunbathing, hiking or taking a few photos.
Fishing: Anderson Ranch Reservoir offers fishing for trout, sockeye salmon, bass and perch. Check the fishing regulations for seasons and limits.
Boating: The boat ramp at Evans Creek Campground is dirt. I am not sure it is usable under adverse weather conditions but Elk Creek Boat Launch is 4.4 miles miles to the west.
Swimming: There is no designated swimming area.
Wildlife: Deer, elk, black bear, wolves, coyotes, squirrels, duck, geese and many other animals call this area their home so have fun looking for them if wildlife watching is what you enjoy.
Additional Camping Opportunities: We have reviews for the following nearby campgrounds; Anderson Ranch Reservoir Area, Little Camas Reservoir, Spillway Recreation Site, South Fork of the Boise River, Little Wilson Creek Campground, Castle Creek Campground (BNF), Pine Recreation Site, Deer Creek Recreation Site and Curlew Creek Boat Ramp Campground.
Phone service: There is no cell phone service anywhere near here. There is a pay phone at Fall Creek Resort further up the reservoir.
Nearby Services: Fall Creek Resort is the only source for supplies out here. First, I would say buy your supplies before you leave Mountain Home, but if you are looking for a meal, some gas or other supplies, check out the resort.
RV Dumping Site: There is an RV Dumping station at Fall Creek Resort.
Location/Driving instructions: To find your way to Evans Creek Campground for your weekend camping follow this GoogleMap.

Fees And Reservations: These campsites may not be reserved. We visited Evans Creek on a rainy weekend in June and it was still half full. I believe one would need to come early to get a site here during July and August. Free.
