Name: Louisville State Recreation Area
Louisville State Recreation Area is located on the southern bank of the Platte River in eastern Nebraska. It occupies 192 acres and has 5 sandpit lakes totaling 50 acres of water surface. It is bordered by mature cottonwood trees and offers camping, picnicing, swimming, fishing and non-powered boating.
Campsites: There are 252 campsites ranging from 50 amp electrical hookups to primitive sites. The roads and driveways are paved and each campsite is equipped with a fire ring and picnic table.
Host on Site: There are multiple camp hosts should you have questions.
Water: There is water available at the restrooms/showers and a few other spots.
Garbage Services: Dumpsters are located in various spots around the campground.
Electricity Available: There are Electric Plus sites with a 50 amp hookup and Electric sites with 20/30 amp hookups.
Restroom: You will find restrooms near your campsite.
Handicap Accessible: There are at least 2 handicap equipped campsites however I could not find them labeled as such.
Firewood: Firewood may be purchaced from your camp host.
Pets: Pets are allowed but are required to be on a leash or kennelled.
Picnic Area: There are 385 picnic table and 276 grills with multiple group shelters for your picnic.
Recreation: Recreation at Louisville includes camping, fishing, boating, swimming, water playground and regular playgrounds. There are trails for hiking and canoeing on the Platte River for those that wish to.
Fishing: Fishing for bass, catfish, bluegill and croppie can be found in the lakes and the Platte River.
Boating: Non-powered boats are allowed in the lakes and some people go canoeing on the river.
Swimming: There is a beach with a swimming area as well as a water playground. The Water Playground has an extra fee. The sign I found indicated it was $10 for 90 minutes per person.
Hiking: There are over 2 miles of trails along the river and through the park.
Wildlife: Deer and squirrel as well as birds can be found here.
Nearby Services: Louisville State Recreation ARea is located on the edge of Louisville, NE so food, gas and such is available there.

RV Dumping Site: There is an RV dumping station which is free to campers.
Nearest Shower: The restrooms have showers in the park. There is no charge for the showers, just the fee to camp or enter the park.
