The beach is pretty good sized.

You caught a glimpse of the Platte River on a couple campsite pictures but here are a couple pictures of it.
There are trails in the sand and woods along the river.
I liked the campsites that bordered the woods. Campsites 178, 180, 185, 187 and a few more.
