Down river from Pine Flats Campground about a quarter mile is a nice hot spring. Access can be tricky when the water is high. You have to hike down stream then up over some cliffs to drop back down to the springs.
On your way to Pine Flats Campground coming from Garden Valley you pass this "Wildlife Viewing" site. The elk winter in here and this view point gives you the chance to see many wild elk.
