Campsites
Cove Recreation Site campground has 40 RV campsites. The RV sites have large shelters at each site. Each RV campsite has a cement flooring surrounding the fire pit and shelter. (please see our pictures) There is a covered group shelter and a day use area. There is extra parking available.

There are vault style outhouses in the campground, and we found them to be clean and well maintained.

There is cell phone reception in Cove Recreation Site campground, but it is limited. There is not a pay phone at this campground, but there is one at North Park Campground.

There are a garbage dumpster and cans in various locations throughout the campground.
Fishing
Great fishing which includes bass, crappie, trout and perch in CJ Strike Reservoir.
Boating
The boat ramp is near campsite 37 and some docks are in the cove.
Swimming
There is a rocky beach near the cove on CJ Strike Reservoir for those times when you just need to cool off!
Hiking
There is a trail along the shoreline.
Wildlife
Birds including water birds abound here.
Fee Schedule
Campsite fee is $15 for overnight and there is a $5 day use fee

Cove Recreation Site is a BLM campground located on the south shore of CJ Strike Reservoir near Bruneau, Idaho. This campground has great facilities. It seems to be very well maintained. No motorcycle or ATV play, but there are foot trails perfect for walking. Fishing, bird watching and playing in the water are the main attractions to this area. This campground would probably be our choice the next time we camp in this area. Very nice!

Getting There
Cove Recreation Site campground is located 25 miles south of Mountain Home, Idaho. From I-84 take exit 95 at Mountain Home. Travel south on Hwy 51 for 21 miles to Bruneau, Idaho. From Bruneau continue traveling west on Hwy 51 for about 2 miles. Take Hwy 78 right for about 3 or 4 miles to a gravel road on your right side. There is a sign for the campground marking the road. Or just follow this GoogleMap from Mountain Home.
