Name: Three Creek Meadow Horse Camp
We visited Three Creek Meadow Horse Camp in July of 2015 and the following is our inpressions of want we found. We do not own, manage or make reservations for this or any other campground.
Three Creek Meadow Horse Camp is avalable for those of you that like to bring your horses. It is located next to Three Creek Meadow Campground but is a seperate loop and has its own entrance. The camp is mostly rolling to level ground with the typical sparse forest with sagebrush undergrowth. There is a very small stream running through which supplies water for the horse trough. There are trails which connect with the wilderness trail system from here. This is a great spot to base your horseback vacation.
Campsites: There are 9 campsites which have room for an RV and are equipped with a picnic table, fire ring and a corral.
Host on Site: The camp host is in Three Creek Meadow Campground which is attached to the horse camp.
Water: There is water for your horses but you will need to bring your own cooking and drinking water.
Garbage Services: Yes, you will find garbage cans available.
Electricity Available: No.
Restroom: There is a very clean vault style outhouse in the campground.
Handicap Accessible: Only the outhouse is handicap accessible.
Firewood: You may purchase bundles of firewood from the camp host.
Pets: Pets are welcome and we met a few on our walk through the campground.
Picnic Area: No.
Recreation: The main recreation here is taking your horses out on the trails some of which lead into the nearby wilderness area.
Fishing: Fishing is available in Three Creek Lake and other lakes and streams in the area. Make sure you know your regulations.
Boating: You may rent a row boat or canoe at the store on Three Creek Lake.
Swimming: You may swim but will need to drive to Three Creek Lake which is 2 miles away.
Wildlife: We saw deer several times however there are also black bear, elk and if you are very lucky you may see a mountain lion. Of course, there are all the normal squirrels and birds.
Nearby Services: The store at Three Creek Lake has a variety of snacks, fishing tackle, camp supplies and drinks but for the more serious supplies like gas, parts or say tires you would need to travel to Sisters or Bend, Oregon.
RV Dumping Site: I heard there is a RV dumping station but didn't look it up.
Location/Driving instructions: From Sisters, OR: Travel 15.2 miles south on Forest Road 16 (Elm Street in Sisters).
