Round Lake State Park

Name: Round Lake State Park

Round Lake State Park was established in 1957 and is set on 143 acres which surrounds a 58 acre lake. The campground has been maintained much the same as it was when it was established. Campsites have not been enlarged, 24 feet is the largest site available.

Campsites: There are 51 campsites and most sites are lined with logs and are equipped with a picnic table and a fire pit with attached grate. Some sites also have a barbecue stand.

Host on Site: There are several employees at the park.

Water: Sixteen campsites have water hook-ups and there are faucets located throughout the campground for the rest.

Garbage Services: There are garbage cans available in several locations around the campground.

Electricity Available: Sixteen campsites are available with electricity, 30 amp service.

Restroom: Round Lake State Park has a nice restroom facility which includes showers in 2 locations. All the facilities were clean at the time of our visit.

Handicap Accessible: Campsite 4 is handicap equipped and the restrooms are also handicap accessible.

Firewood: Firewood may be purchased from the camp store. It was $6 per bundle in 2014.

Pets: Pets must be kept on a leash at all times and you must clean up after your pet.

Picnic Area: There is a very nice picnic at the lake with picnic tables scattered about and even one group shelter.

Recreation: Most recreation at Round Lake State Park involves the lake where you can swim, fish, canoe or go boating.

Fishing: For fishing regulations, check out the links on our Idaho fishing page.

Boating: Canoeing is allowed as well as boats with electric motors. Gas powered motors are not allowed.

Swimming: There is an established swimming area at the beach between the two docks, however, there is no lifeguard.

Wildlife: Deer, elk and black bear live in these hills.

Additional Camping Opportunities: We have reviews for these nearby campgrounds; Springy Point Recreation Area, Sam Owens Campground, Riley Creek Recreation Area and Priest River Recreation Area(Mudhole).

Phone service: There is a pay phone at the park office. We got full service including 4G data on our ATT phones.

Nearby Services: Sandpoint, Idaho, is only 10 miles to the north on Hwy 95 and most any service or supply you might need could be found there.

RV Dumping Site: There is a RV dump station on the road into the park.

Nearest Shower: I found showers in the main restroom and another near the park store.

Nearest Laundry: We have included directions to one of several laundry services in Sandpoint. We did not use them so this is not a recommendation. Nu-way Wash-o-matic is located at 502 N 5th St in Sand Point.
