Name: Mormon Reservoir Camping
Mormon Reservoir is a few miles south of Fairfield, Idaho, surrounded by sagebrush covered hills. I could not find the history of the reservoir but the land around it is managed by the BLM. In the past, a great deal of development was done to promote camping and fishing at Mormon Reservoir. Gravel roads were put in with large camping areas bordered by concrete posts. Two vault style outhouses were built. There is a nice boat ramp and two docks. While the boat ramp is still used, the camping areas are overgrown with sagebrush and are unrecognizable. From my observations, all camping is primitive with only a couple hand made fire rings. It's sad considering the expense involved with all of those concrete posts.

Garbage Services: No.
Electricity Available: No.
Restroom: There are two older vault style outhouses and one newer handicap accessible outhouse complete with it's own cement parking spot. It is even painted with the handicap emblem.
Handicap Accessible: One outhouse is.
Firewood: None for miles.
Pets: No restrictions posted.
Picnic Area: Anywhere you like, but there are no tables.
Recreation: Fishing, fishing and more fishing.
Fishing: I could not find any IFG stocking report which indicated the reservoir is stocked. Native bass, catfish, perch and crappie could be caught.
Boating: Motorized boats are allowed.
Swimming: This is a fishing lake, could you swim? Probably, but there is no designated area.
Wildlife: One might think there would only be the occasional coyote, but just a few miles from here I saw three bull elk standing on a hill.
Phone service: No.
Nearby Services: Gas, food, fishing tackle and more can be found at Fairfield only a few miles to the north.
RV Dumping Site: No.
