Name: Killen Creek Campground
Killen Creek Campground is located along Killen Creek only a few miles northwest of Mount Adams. The area is heavily forested with wildflower filled meadows scattered about. The road in was rough already in July. When I visited there was a group camping before their climb up Mount Adams the next morning.
Campsites: There are 9 campsites in Killen Creek Campground. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. Site #3 is listed as a handicap equipped site. All I saw was a handicap accessible table. There is limited turn around space and the sites are shorter, do not bring a larger RV here.
Host on Site: There is no host on site however an attendant visits the campground once or twice a day.
Water: No.
Garbage Services: Garbage service is available, notice the garbage cans in our picture of the outhouses.
Electricity Available: No.
Restroom: There is a set of older but well maintained and clean outhouses.
Handicap Accessible: Campsite #3 has a handicap equipped picnic table.
Firewood: Firewood may be purchased from the attendant. It cost $6 per bundle in 2013.
Pets: Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
Picnic Area: No.
Recreation: The main recreational activities are fishing, hiking, photography and mountain climbing. There are several trails to hike. I have included pictures of the maps of these trails in the "Host and Views" page on Takhlakh Lake Campground review. These maps are available from the host also. For a photographer this area is wonderful both for the greenery and the scenery.
Fishing: Fishing is available in nearby streams and lakes. Tahklahk Lake had been stocked with "jumbo" trout.
Boating: No.
Swimming: No, one could play in the creek though.
Wildlife: Deer are common here and black bear roam these hills but there had been no report of bear in the campgrounds.
Phone service: None closer than Randle, WA.
RV Dumping Site: There is an RV dump station at Maple Grocery in Randle, WA and another in Troutdale to the south.
