North Park Campground

North Park Campground is an Idaho Power recreation facility. The country around the park is high desert covered with sagebrush and dry grasses. It is situated above CJ Strike Dam on the shore of CJ Strike Reservoir. Activities include fishing, fishing and fishing, as well as swimming, camping, boating and more fishing! There are 4 group shelters scattered throughout the facility, and there is a large day use area.

Amenities

Campsites
North Park Campground has 30 RV camping units along with a separate tent camping area. Each campsite includes a picnic table and a camp grill over a fire pit. There is adequate space for RV's and camp trailers. The campground is covered with sand and gravel and surrounded by grass and dirt.

Yes, there is drinking water available in the campground.
Restroom
There are flushing toilets in the campground and we found them to be clean and well maintained.

There was no firewood for sale at the time our visit but there may be once the Hosts arrive.
Pets
Pets are welcome on a leash.
Picnic Area
Yes, there is a large picnic area.
Handicap Access
Handicap accessible.
RV Dump Site
Yes, at Scout Park nearby.
Host On-Site
Yes, in season.
Phone Service
Cell phone reception in this campground was okay on my Verizon phone.
Garbage Services
There is a garbage dumpster available.

Recreation

Fishing
North Park Campground is designed with the fisherman in mind. Near the boat docks there is a group shelter for the purpose of trophy presentation during bass tournaments. Fishing includes bass, crappie and trout among others.
Boating
There is a boat ramp with dock at this campground, along with a large parking area. The boat launch is a popular launch and often busy.
Swimming
There is a beach area complete with break water for swimming. The water tends to be mossy.
Wildlife
Birds including water birds.

Getting There

CJ Strike Reservoir and the area campgrounds are located 21 miles south of Mountain Home. From I-84 take exit 95 at Mountain Home. Travel south on Hwy 51 for 21 miles to Bruneau. From Bruneau continue traveling west on Hwy 51 for about 2 miles. Take Hwy 78 right for about 6 miles, turn right on Black Sands road to CJ Strike Dam with North Park, Scout Park and Locust Park campgrounds.
