Name: Slim's Camp
Slim's Camp is one camping site and a vault style outhouse surrounded by wild country on the banks of Meadow Creek. The mountains are heavily forested and there is little traffic beyond Slim's Camp. The Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area is only a couple miles away. There was a man and his children with their families camped here when we made our review. They were salmon fishing.

Recreation: With the Selway - Bitterroot Wilderness Area at hand and the Selway River near, along with Meadow Creek running past the campground, there are many recreational opportunities available. There are several trails for hiking, backpacking and horseback riding. If you find Slim's Camp full or not to your taste, use Race Creek Campground or Selway Falls Campground. There is a large and highly used rafting facility which you drive through to get to Race Creek Campground, and of course there is fishing. The Selway River is beautiful and would be worth hiking further in for the opportunity to practice your photography or watch for wildlife.
Fishing: There are trout, steelhead and salmon in Meadow Creek. We spoke to a man who was salmon fishing here, and at that time the salmon run was just downstream at Selway Falls.
Boating: No.
Swimming: No.
Wildlife: We saw whitetail deer at a couple places in this area and salmon were jumping at the falls. There were bear warnings at every campground and with the wilderness area just a couple miles away, one could see most any big game animal and a host of small wildlife.
Additional Camping Opportunities: We have reviewed these nearby campgrounds; Boyd Creek Campground, 25 Mile Bar Campground, Glover Campground, Race Creek Campground and Selway Falls Campground. Most of these campgrounds are free to camp in.
