Schipper Campground

Name: Schipper Campground

Schipper Campground is wedged between Rock Creek and Rock Creek Road on a small piece of flat land. The mountains around the campground are steep, rocky and open, covered with grass and sagebrush. This could be a very hot spot during July and August! Rock Creek is bordered by trees which provide some shade. Schipper Campground would not be my choice for camping.

Campsites: There are 4 campsites, 1 and 3 have picnic tables and fire rings, 2 is primitive camping but has the most room. Site 4 was occupied and I have no report on it.

Wildlife: Rattlesnakes, coyotes, birds and deer.

Additional Camping Opportunities: We have reviews for these nearby campgrounds; Steer Basin Campground, Lower Penstemon Campground, Upper Penstemon Campground, Porcupine Springs Campground, FS Flats Campground, Diamondfield Jack Campground and Pettit Campground. Plus Harrington Fork Picnic Area.

Phone service: None. Rock Creek would have the nearest pay phone.

Nearby Services: The Rock Creek Station would be your nearest location for supplies and is located only a short drive downstream.

RV Dumping Site: According to rvdumps.com the nearest RV dump station is in Twin Falls, however, it was broken and had been out of service for 2 years as of September 2009. I'll keep looking for one and if you know of one in this area please let me know.

Location/Driving instructions: From Twin Falls follow this Google Map.
