Ridgeview Campground

Name: Ridgeview Campground

Ridgeview Campground is part of Lake Cascade State Park. For reservation purposes it is referred to as Ridgeview Loop. It has been completely remodeled 2 years ago and now sports paved roads and driveways, electricity and pressurized water at every campsite. Some will have sewer hook-ups. There is a public shower with flushing toilets. Ridgeview Campground is just outside of Cascade, Idaho which offers easy access to camping supplies and the opportunity to eat at nice restaurant. Lake Cascade when full is at 4828 feet elevation. The mountains are forested and still have snow in June.

Campsites: There are 25 RV campsites in the Ridgeview Loop of Lake Cascade State Park. The road and driveways are paved and the table and fire ring areas are gravel. Site 200 is the host site and site 188 is the admin site. Campsites 176 and 198 are ADA equipped. Sites 193 through 200 have sewage hook-ups. Sites 178, 179, 189, 190 and 192 are "companion" sites which are equipped to handle 2 RVs.

Host on Site: The host is located in RV site #200.

Water: Water is available in each campsite through a pressurized system. There is a warning that the water pressure may be as high as 100psi which may damage the water system in some RVs.

Garbage Services: Garbage service is available in dumpsters near the shower.

Electricity Available: Each campsite has 50 amp electrical service.

Restroom: The shower has flushing toilets and there is a vault style outhouse in the day-use area. Both were very clean and well stocked.

Handicap Accessible: Ridgeview Campground is part of Lake Cascade State Park and is one of the more handicap accessible camping opportunities in the state. Campsites 176 and 198 are ADA equipped as well as the toilets, and there is an ADA shower.

Firewood: Firewood is available from a stand near the host's campsite for $6.00 per bundle.

Pets: Pets are allowed but dogs must be kept on a 6 foot leash.

Picnic Area: Yes! Ridgeview Campground has a nice day-use / picnic area / beach if you choose to use it. As part of Lake Cascade State Park, many people do come here for their picnics or one of the other picnic areas in the state park. Check out our Cascade Lake Area page. (Coming soon!)

Recreation: Recreation on Cascade Lake includes fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming, sunbathing, camping and sailing. The Payette River, which is nearby, offers kayaking, rafting and floating.

Fishing: Cascade Lake offers fishing for trout, small and large mouth bass, perch and Northern Pikeminnow. Check the regulations for local restrictions.

Boating: There are several boat access locations around the lake and if you don't have a mooring dock at the campground, you can beach your boat near your campsite. Ridgeview Campground has no boat ramp or mooring dock.

Swimming: Swimming in Cascade Lake is at your own risk. There is no dock, or roped off area nor a lifeguard, but the water is cool on a hot summer day.

Wildlife: Since Ridgeview Campground is located on the edge of town, you may not see any wildlife such as deer, elk or bear, however, there are many birds and squirrels.

You pay a premium price to stay here but its not a premium park. Its shabby. Yes the shower building is nice but the sites are not. They don't water the grass areas or cut or trim the areas around the sites. There are fences coming apart, dog mess in the walking areas. It really needs to be maintained, like the brand new park near Tamarack Resort that's all green, weed eated, cut, clean and level.

We stayed 10 days Sep 2020. Very nice campground & the host, Donna, was right on top of raking & tidying as soon as any site vacated. Showers closed because of Covid but she thoroughly cleaned the restrooms twice a day. We will definitely come back if possible next year.
