Name: Lower Penstemon Campground
Lower Penstemon Campground, situated along Rock Creek south of Twin Falls, is at 6600 feet elevation. This area has some open hills on the southern exposures. Other areas are covered with evergreen trees and undergrowth. There is a large grassy flat in the center of the campground which has a baseball field complete with a backstop and benches for the players. I visited in late June and found it to be cool during the night but getting into the 70s during the day.
Campsites: Lower Penstemon Campground has 6 campsites each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring with attach grill. The road is gravel and the driveways are dirt / gravel mix. Sites 2 through 4 are in a loop below the baseball field. 1 is double and is near the road. 5 is short and against a hill. 6 is by itself at the top of the campground.
