Name: Deer Flat Campground

Deer Flat Campground is located along the North Fork of Deer Creek which a very small creek. I am not sure if it dries up in the fall but at the time of our visit it would have been perfect for the kids to play in without us worrying about them being safe. The campground is mostly level and shaded with lodgepole pine and Douglas-Fir. You won't be able to get in here until sometime in June and the road could be quite muddy at that.

Campsites: The campsites, driveways and roads are dirt. The picnic tables and fire rings may be beat up as it doesn't seem that the forest service does much maintenance on the campground. Deer Flat Campground is lightly used except for fall hunting season.

Electricity Available: No

Restroom: There is a vault style outhouse available. It was a bit dirty and had no toilet paper at the time of our visit.

Handicap Accessible: Not really.

Firewood: No

Pets: The sign indicates pets must be on a leash but if nobody is around it's up to you.

Picnic Area: No but there is no fee to use this site so feel free to grab a site and enjoy yourself!

Recreation: Camping, fishing, hunting...

Fishing: Trout can be found in nearby streams as well as Bull Trout Lake and Deadwood Reservoir.

Boating: No

Swimming: Wading, yes.

Wildlife: Deer, elk, crane, wolves and black bear live in this area. We found fresh deer tracks in the campground.

Phone service: No

Nearby Services: Stanley, Idaho is the closest town and would be nearly 44 miles away.

Gas and Food: As mentioned earlier the nearest town is 44 miles away so come prepared with everything you need.

RV Dumping Site: No
