Buttercup Campground

Name: Buttercup Campground

Buttercup Campground is located on the west shore of Cascade Lake and is part of Lake Cascade State Park. It is a park like setting with mowed lawns and open spaces. There is a boat ramp with a large parking lot and a picnic table or two in a small cluster of trees next to the campground.

Campsites: There are 29 campsites, each having a picnic table and fire ring with attached grill. The roads and driveways are paved and the sites are grass covered.

Host on Site: Yes, there is a camp host on site.

Water: Yes, on a pressurized system with good water.

Garbage Services: Yes. I recommend using caution with your garbage to avoid trouble with black bears.

Electricity Available: No

Restroom: There are three vault style outhouses in the campground, one on the north end, another near the entrance, and a third at the boat ramp.

Handicap Accessible: Buttercup Campground is handicap friendly with two handicap equipped campsites, 122 and 126. Each of the outhouses are handicap accessible and the paved roads also make it easier to get around.

Firewood: Firewood is available for $6.00 per bundle from a stand near the host.

Pets: Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash or caged.

Picnic Area: There is a picnic table in the woods near the entrance to the campground and another near the boat ramp.

Recreation: Recreation from Buttercup Campground includes; camping, fishing, biking, hiking, skiing, jet skiing and photography as well as many other activities.

Fishing: Fishing is available in Cascade Lake by boat or from the bank for trout, large and small mouth bass, perch and northern Pikeminnow.

Boating: There is a nice boat ramp with handling docks at Buttercup Campground.

Swimming: There is no designated swimming area but people do swim in the lake.

Wildlife: Deer are common as are small woodland animals and birds. I would think it would be possible to see black bear.

Phone service: There is no pay phone in Buttercup, however we had reception with our ATT cell phones.

Nearby Services: I would recommend the short drive to Donnelly for the camping supplies you run short on, such as, pop, food, popcorn and propane. The store with the Subway has gas and these other supplies available.

RV Dumping Site: There is an RV dumping station on the north end of West Mountain Campground which is the next campground to the south.
