Name: Kachess Campground

Campsites: Kachess Lake Campground offers 141 sites that accommodate both tent and RV camping, including one designated group site that can accommodate up to 50 guests. Sites are equipped with picnic tables and campfire rings with grills.

Host on Site: Yes, I found one in Gale loop.

Water: Water is available through a pressurized system and is readily available in several locations.

Garbage Services: Yes, there are dumpsters or cans scattered through out the campground.

Electricity Available: No

Restroom: Restrooms vary in age and style, Gale loop seems to be the oldest but has a restroom with lavs and flushing toilets while the other loops have vault style outhouses except for the restroom near the handicap sites in Box Canyon. It has flushing toilets also.

Handicap Accessible: As mentioned earlier there are two sites in Box Canyon loop that are handicap equipped and are right next to the restroom with flushing toilets which is also handicap accessible.

Firewood: Firewood is available for purchase from the camp host. 

Pets: I couldn't find any indicator as to whether pets were welcome or not.

Picnic Area: There are three areas where one could have a picnic. The main boat launch area has many tables as does the beach area. The third spot is at the second boat launch. 

Recreation: Recreation primarily involves the lake whether it is boating, water skiing, swimming or fishing. However there is a trail which windings through the campground along the lake and another that follows the lake shore north into the mountians. The Pacific Crest Trail is only a short drive away too. We were happily surprised to find an abundance of ripe huckleberries in and around the campground.

Fishing: Kachess Lake is available for fishing as well as the many streams and rivers nearby. Check the fishing regulation for seasons and limits.

Boating: Boating, including water skiing is allow on Kachess Lake however there are warnings about water level and obstacles. There are two boat launches. The main one has a nice launch with a large parking area and picnic tables. While the second one is very rocky and I would only put in with rubber rafts, canoes or very light boats.

Swimming: There is a beach with a marked swimming area and parking next to Gale loop. It is a pretty decent beach and was quite busy at the time of our stay. There is no lifeguard so you are swimming "at your own risk".

Hiking: There is a trail which windings through the campground along the lake and another that follows the lake shore north into the mountians. The Pacific Crest Trail is only a short drive away too. We were happily surprised to find an abundance of ripe huckleberries in and around the campground.

Wildlife: We didn't see any of the large wildlife that lives in the forest which surrounds the campground, only squirrels and birds. There are bears nearby but they must not bother the campground much as there weren't any warning signs.

Nearby Services: I went looking for a diet dew and some gas one morning. I found a Chevron station and store at Snoqualmie Pass about 10 miles west on the freeway, I90.

RV Dumping Site: The campground map indicates an RV dump station in the campground but it was not in service and appears to have been shut down. We found one at the rest area on the freeway a few mile to the east at Indian John Hill.
