Thompson Flat Campground

Name: Thompson Flat Campground

Thompson Flat Campground is located on a large gentle slope which is covered with an evergreen forest. It is an interesting campground. It is well developed with 25 campsites, 3 group sites, at least 4 fairly new vault style outhouses and a well(which is out of order) but very little of it appears to get much use. I can see why though there just isn't much to do in this area other than fishing at Lake Cleveland and hike or ride the trails in the area however Lake Cleveland has a campground which doesn't seem to be heavily used either. Also Twin Lakes Campground is set up for horsemen to use so there goes the trail riding. But back the the campground, it is a nice campground except for the weeds growing in almost all the campsites because they aren't used much. Now don't get me wrong I could definately see camping in many of them If there was a nearby activity I wanted to pursue.

Campsites: Thompson Flat Campgrorund has 25 campsites of which 4 are double sites and 3 group sites or loops. Loop A max persons is 40, Loop B is 64 and Loop C handles 56. The roads and driveways are gravel while the campsites are dirt. Campsites range from fully shaded to full sun. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and firepit with grate. The group areas each have a small community area with a larger fire ring and bbq grill or grills.
