I will mention two dangers to be aware of here: 1)Rattlesnakes, they do live in this area and 2)Lower Burnt Corral Recreation Site is situated in a wash and flash floods could occur without warning.
Name: Lower Burnt Corral Recreation Site
Lower Burnt Corral Recreation Site is located in a dry sandy wash on the south side of the boat launch at Burnt Corral Recreation Site. There are quite a few trees for shade from the summer sun with picnic tables scattered about. The roads are rather sandy and a couple spots could cause a problem getting through but they can be avoided.
Campsites: I rather liked this site, there are picnic table scattered about some under the trees others next to the water. There weren't any fire rings nor were the campsite numbered. They really weren't even specific locations just a picnic table under a tree.
Host on Site: The host is in Burnt Corral Recreation Site.
Water: There is no water in Lower Burnt Corral Recreaton site but is available in Burnt Corral which is only a short walk or dirve.
Garbage Services: There was a large garbage can in the outhouse.
Electricity Available: No
Restroom: There is a vault style outhouse, it was clean and stocked with TP at the time of my visit.
Handicap Accessible: The outhouse is handicap accessible but the approach to it is not nor is anything else.
Firewood: No
Pets: Pets are allowed but must be on a leash or confined.
Recreation: Camping, fishing, boating, sunbathing and more. Sunset on the lake might offer a fantastic photo op.
Fishing: Fishing in Apache Reservoir for channel and flathead catfish, largemouth, smallmouth, striped and yellow bass, bluegill, crappie, walleye, trout and carp is available.
Boating: Yes, there is a large boat launch at Burnt Corral Recreation Site only a few yards away.
Swimming: There is no designated swimming area but there is a sand/pebble beach and a lake...
Wildlife: I'm sure one could see deer and javelina. I'm not sure what else one might find.
Additional Camping Opportunities: The main campground here is Burnt Corral Recreation Site and Upper Burnt Corral Recreation Site is very popular too.
Nearby Services: We bought gas and got snacks at Spring Creek Store. There is a store in Roosevelt but they didn't sell gas and weren't open much due to COVID.
RV Dumping Site: The nearest RV dumping station is on Lake Roosevelt.
